This waist trainer can also be worn as a back brace. The XL size I ordered fit my husband and myself fine and I ordered based on the size chart. I'm a size 22/24 and my husband is a size 36 in the waist. We both weight close to 240 lbs. I will be using it mostly for lower back support instead of waist training. This is the same type of back brace support belt I use to own and works just like a back brace. Even though it is marketed to women this particular brace can be worn by women or men. The one I ordered came in gender neutral black. It really does cinch the waist if I tighten it down that much but again I don't intend to wear it as a waist trainer. I ordered this mainly to use as a back brace for my husband who recently had spinal lumbar fusion back surgery he has the brace that was given to him at the hospital but repeated wear outdoors has left that one a bit smelly. It also has two pieces of metal in it and can be a bit uncomfortable at times so this one works out a little better because it doesn't have the metal bars and gives me the chance to wash the other one while he still has one he can wear. It fits around his lower back/torso area well. The belt has two layers of strong velcro closures. This gives precise control over the amount of support The belt is that the back is wider than the front and that is always nice when bending. There are 4 acrylic bone type structures in the back of the belt for structure. The belt is hand washable if it gets dirty or smelly like our other one did. Having an extra brace like this one helps with his healing process and gives us a chance to make sure he always has a clean belt that can be worn under his shirt out in public. That another thing, when he wears it under his clothes you can't even tell he has it on. *I was provided a sample of this product at no cost for testing and review. I know this is advertised partly as as waist trainer, but it works GREAT as a back brace too. My dad is in the process of building a house and he needed something to make sure he doesn't throw out his back. This thing is so comfortable, and easy to use. It fits both my dad who is pretty skinny (mens size medium shirts) and me too (women's xl shirts). It's so simple to put it on, you just position it where you want it and attach to the Velcro around you. I love that it's adjustable to whatever size you need, bigger or smaller. And it's not so stiff that it hurts to wear. I can wear it at my desk while I'm working and it's comfy for hours, or he can wear it while he's working on a house for hours and either way it's comfy. It helps keep your posture right so that you don't throw out a muscle or something and really do some damage. It's a great way to spend a little on some protection ahead of time instead of spending a lot on doctors visits when you throw out your back later on. *I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

I ordered this Camellias Adjustable Back Sport Brace Support for my hubby who has a bad back from an injury he got when he fell off a ladder at work about 10 years ago. He has a very physically demanding job and over the years he has had so much pain and discomfort that flares up so bad sometimes, he cannot move. He has had to get muscle relaxer shots several times but never had bothered to get a back support belt to use while working. Recently his back has been getting worse and I knew a support belt would be critical in him being able to do his job. He is a waist size 36 and usually and we got this in the medium. The size is perfect. It is very adjustable so even if he were to gain or lose weight, it would still fit. He is pretty tall at 6'4 , but this belt is wide enough to cover his lower back with no problem. The belt itself closes with strong velcro. To give you control over the amount of support you want, there are two straps that stretch around your waist that can be made as tight as you want if you need more support. What is great about the belt is that the back is wider than the front so it really gives you that support your back needs when bending and reaching. When he gets really stiff or his back is just that knotted up and swollen, he can still do actual work without being in excruciating pain as long as he is wearing this back support. On days that he's feeling good, he still wears this for additional support and to keep his core aligned to help prevent further injury and damage. There are 4 acrylic bones in the back of the belt and it is constructed of canvas and has good stretch to it. The belt is hand washable if it starts to get smelly from sweat or dirt and folds up easily to travel with and store. This has helped him with the support he needs for his back during his long hard days at work where he is climbing, bending, lifting and crouching all day long. It is comfortable and adjustable and works wonderfully! I'm not sure what I was expecting when I first put this on, but there is no doubt it surprised me with how much of a difference it made with it on! I seriously just want to wear it under all of my clothes! I haven't been wearing it long enough yet to be able to see lasting results, but I do know that when I'm wearing it my waist looks amazing & after 3 kids that is as good as gold! It seems pretty well made and the velcro is really strong. You can wear it under a pretty fitted top and nobody will notice you are even wearing it! I'm addicted! First I will say my size put me on the fence between two sizes, I ordered the smaller of the two. I am 5'5 135lb. I have extra skin and a little baby pooch from my two kids. I was 105 lbs before kids and went to 160 at height of both pregnancies and then down to 130/135 after each pregancy so I kept 30lbs which i needed being so skinny before and I like where most of the weight went to, but, the belly area really stretched out and didnt come back because I have a disorder that doesn't allow stretched out things to snap back( skin, muscle, tendons, cartilage etc..). So i needed this inorder to wear bodycon type dresses. This thing is tight, i think i got the right size but, it doesn't fit as smooth as the model, it fold inward at my hip area. I don't know if i need to pull it up more or down more I don't know. Having said this, it does hold me in and i don't have back fat rolls hanging out from displaced fat like other things do. The folding is not visible through my bodycon dresses so if they can't see it, I don't care. It is not uncomfortable to wear but it is a struggle to put on. I guess if it wasn't so hard to get in to it wouldn't be as effective. I actually wish it held me in a little more but that is not the suit's fault that is just my body. I don't think anythig else would do better than this other than a lace up corset which i also have by camillas and it gives me the best shape ever but it would show threw a bodycon. This is my second camillas product and I have not been disappointed yet. They have great shapewear at great prices. I paid full price for this product and will buy more.

I ordered a size medium and I normally wear small to medium in clothes. The medium fit pretty well but it's about a month later and I'm kind of wishing I ordered a small instead because I can already wear the waist trainer on the tightest row comfortably. But overall it's nice and comfortable. I'll be ordering the next size down pretty soon :)
