I went by the measurement provided by the seller and it fit perfectly. I would say tho, this waist trainer is a lot more comfortable and cheaper, than other brands I have tried. Although it gives you support, it is not as sturdy but I do not mind that since it allows you to move around more comfortably.

Daughter purchased this from her Amazon account but she never reviews anything. I saw this in her room and it was so well made & sturdy that I had to review it. She is 5'5 tall and weighs 145 lbs. Her shape is hourglass. She originally ordered the medium but it was too big, so she returned it and selected the small, which fits her well. She plans to use this for her cosplay costumes. She puts a lot of time and effort into creating these costumes and was very pleased with this garment.

Love! Love! Love! It. After reading and doing a lot of research I decided to try this. After two kids it was hard to get the stomach & waist in shape... I love the instant hour glass. I wear size 10 or 12 and got a large. It's perfect! If you wear a large please get a large. It's firm and yet comfortable. I wore it 6am and still wearing it at 8pm lol...
